A memorial service and life celebration is scheduled for Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House, TN in the chapel at 7PM. It will be officiated by Rev. Garland Driver, Bro Robert Lewis of Wilson, NC and Rev. Ben Butero. Visitation is planned for Thursday, August 24, PM-7PM at the funeral home. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McClendon was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Pickens; and a sister, Katheryn McClendon. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Monday, August 21st, in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Dual Evans, Talon Evans, Tanner Calonge, Carl Bunnell, David Kautzman and Brian Bell serving as pallbearers.

Tom was born January 3, 1962, in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. He is proceeded in death by his father Major Carl S. Miller, his mother Mary Ann Agee Miller Harned, stepfather Frank Harned and stepbrother Scott Harned. Tom was a member of the Greenbrier High School class of 1980 where he excelled in football and baseball. He received his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with honors. Tom was a huge sports fanatic and loved the University of Tennessee sports programs, especially football. He loved to spend time traveling, attending sporting events, and loved his nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11am Monday in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Terry Watts, Bob Sneed, Chad Hunter, Brock Poole, David Dever, and James Allen serving as pallbearers. Andrew was filled with kindness and gentleness, spreading warmth throughout those who knew him. His heart served as a generous reservoir of affection that overflowed onto loved ones he held dear – including family members and circle of friends alike – with an innate empathy that made each feel valued and treasured. Andrew showed this love through daily acts of selflessness done out of genuine care for others.

His big heart and magnetic, outgoing personality drew people to him. He would give the shirt off his back – and anything else – if he thought someone needed it more than he did. He loved his parents, Bruce and Jean, who adopted him and his identical twin brother Bradley, and brought them home at five weeks old. These baby boys were the answer to their prayer to become parents. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Virgil “T.V” Harris and baby brother, William Monroe Harris “Billy”.

She and her late husband, Billy Joe, were tobacco farmers. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching the birds, drinking coffee and was an avid reader, especially her bible, which she read faithfully. She loved watching Netflix and Hulu, but spending time with her grandchildren was the thing she loved most.
